Our bespoke catering menus are designed to bring people together and at Woods we are ALL about sensational food experiences evoking connection and community. A place where flavours entwine and friendships align over food that is local, seasonal and super fresh. Handpicked from our local markets and suppliers, from plate to heart it’s the thread of distinct flavours that weaves us into moments of joy and gratitude. 

Our Chef

Executive Chef/Owner, Sam Campbell, was born and raised in a dairy farming family amongst the awe-inspiring terrains on the North Island of New Zealand.  

The values of farm-to-table, are in his DNA, and you can experience this not just with his food but his entire hospitality experience at his bespoke dining venues and catering events. 

With his love and deep connection to fresh food, it’s this bond that's stretched him to explore the world with many years spent in the Mediterranean, Europe and the US.  

Sam is no stranger to the art and beauty of culture and food, uncovering valuable insights, and he quickly discovered that when it comes to connection, food is at the centre. 

So it’s no wonder that Chef Sam Campbell personally holds strong ties deeply connected to the local traditions and culture he found in the everyday farmers markets, villages and home kitchens.

With years of mastering global flavours and cuisines serving a sensational culinary experience, Sam’s worldly travels have deeply inspired his spirit for cooking from the local markets, farmers and suppliers. 

From farm to table, fresh and flavorful, his natural authentic cooking style is sensitive and intuitively inspired by the rhythms of the seasons in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. 

He sources only sustainable produce and uses only the best of Byron’s freshest seasonal produce and believes that locally farmed food is key to good eating and healthy living.
